The Witches

Torklja
Mora
Pehtra
Faronika

These collection of illustrations presents four wise women from slavic folklore.

Torklja will knock on your window if you spin or sew or knit on an ember night, make knots in your yarn and cut the thin thread that connects your soul to your heart.

Mora brings nightmares to those who deserve them and can only be kept away with a symbol of protection or a knife through the keyhole.

Faronika is an ancient mythical creature, a seductive goddess, connecting the female principle with the wildness and gentleness of water.

Pehtra is a wise woman, a healer and advisor, she knows the secret powers of plants and lights the path for those who walk alone.
